District Improvement Plan
District Improvement Plans
Atlanta Independent School District has developed a District Improvement Plan that serves to guide district and campus staff in the attainment of the district’s vision and goals through a continuous cycle of improvement. This plan encompasses the goals of the district, the annual performance objectives, the improvement strategies to achieve each objective, the personnel responsible for the oversight of each strategy, a timeline for ongoing monitoring of the strategies, the resources needed to implement the identified strategies, the formative evaluation of each strategy, and the summative indicator for each performance objective. As part of the continuous improvement cycle, a comprehensive performance evaluation is conducted annually to study multiple types of data on student performance and targeted outcomes, to analyze trends and patterns within and across the data, and to identify causal factors. The results of the annual needs assessment are used in the development of the annual performance objectives and strategies that will ensure the attainment of the district’s goals. Student performance reports on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) and the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) provided the data for the annual district performance evaluation. Other sources of information include the input of parents, community, business leaders, administrators and teachers through the District Level Planning and Decision-Making Committee.
